Here’s a bunch of questions I get asked frequently, but also some questions I just kinda imagine people are asking about us.
General Questions
What's your hourly rate?
I’ve been asked this a number of times. I don’t really know nor do I really see the point in coming up with a number. The amounts I charge for each job are some combination of market research (of what other places charge for the same job) and my own imagination to some extent. My aim is to be affordable, so if you feel I charge too much, feel free to let me know.
How much do you charge?
Best if you check services pages for pricing, since it can vary model to model, job to job.
Where are you located?
Well, I’m sorta all over the place, since I’m a mobile mechanic, but my primary home bases are in Waikiki, where I currently live, and my dad’s place over in Mililani.
What's with the name?
I don’t know. I thought it sounded funny at the time. Can’t remember how it came up, but I do remember I was watching Gladiator somewhere around the time that popped into my head.
Technical Questions
Do you work on all hybrids or just Toyota?
We have the most experience, by far, in Toyotas. However, we do get requests, sometimes, to fix non-Toyota hybrids, like Hondas. Surprisingly, we also get requests to fix regular cars, and we’re definitely game to do so, since we love just fixing cars in general. But I can almost guarantee there’s probably some other mechanic on the island who can do it faster than I can. In much the same way I could probably fix a hybrid much faster than a mechanic who specializes on non-hybrid cars.
