Cars get hot! They stay cool by circulating coolant through their many passageways. The pumps that circulate through these passageways are referred to as “water” pumps. Probably because coolant is, like, half water. Also, it’s easier to say than “coolant”. Anywho, they need to be replaced every once in a while (just like everything else on a car).
